Tracking Test Sites

Tracking Club tests are currently being held at Willow River State Park near Hudson, WI and Kinnickinnic State Park near River Falls, Wisconsin.

Other places to track include Lake Elmo Park Reserve and William O'Brien State Park, both in eastern Minnesota roughly around the Stillwater, MN area.

Directions to Willow River Tracking site:

There are a couple of ways to the usual site from Minnesota.  One is via I-94, the other thru Stillwater.

I-94 Route - from West take I-94 east across the St. Croix River to first exit to Hudson.  Straight thru Hudson then North Hudson.  You are on Wisconsin 35.  Turn right at County Road V.  Take the very next right off V.  It is River Road.  Stay on River road to Nelson Farm Road.  Turn Right onto Nelson Farm road.  There is a parking area at the corner of the large field you drive by.  Headquarters is on down the road and a driveway to the right at the bottom of the hill.

From the East take I-94 west to the last Hudson Exit.  (it is just before you cross the bridge) then follow above direction.  To access the fields on the East side, where the Ranger Station is located, take I-94 east to Exit.

From Main Street, downtown Stillwater:  Access Stillwater's Main Street via Minnesota Highway 36.  Cross the lift bridge into Wisconsin. Up the hill, turn right onto Wisconsin 35.  In about 10 miles Left onto County Road V.  Take the very next right off V.  It is River Road.  Stay on River Road to Nelson Farm Road.  Turn Right onto Nelson Farm Road.  There is parking area at the corner of the large field you drive by.  Headquarters is on down the road and a driveway to the right at the bottom of the hill.

Directions to Kinnickinnic State Park site:

From East or West take I-94 to Carmichael Road Exit (Hudson.)  South at traffic light past shopping area then Dog Racing track.  Carmichael becomes County Road F.  South on F (about 10 miles) right turn at the Clifton Hollow golf course sign, then about 2 blocks a left turn into Park headquarters.  If you end up going down a very steep hill you have gone too far south on F.  (The turn to park headquarters off F is just before you start down into the hollow.)  We will meet down in the park but not by the ranger station.  It is a little confusing but you want to go right after the parking lot at the ranger station.  Keep going till you get to the end of the road where there is a picnic area and parking lot.
